Love name decorations
Write a name — yours, a partner’s or a best friend’s — and every heart frame below updates. Bold, italic and script letters are swapped for maths alphanumeric characters, so they suit bios and display names but not every username field.
What ♡ ❤ 𑣲 ⋆ ᥫ᭡ ִֶָ𓂃 are made of
The long love string people search for mixes two real hearts with five characters that only look cute. ♡ WHITE HEART SUIT and ❤ HEAVY BLACK HEART are true hearts. 𑣲 is a numeral, ⋆ is a maths sign, ᥫ᭡ is a letter from the Tai Le script next to a Balinese music mark, ִֶָ are three Hebrew vowel dots, and 𓂃 is the Egyptian hieroglyph for an eyebrow.

| Symbol | Unicode name | Code point | HTML entity | Added in |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ♡ | White Heart Suit | U+2661 | ♡ | Unicode 1.1 |
| ❤ | Heavy Black Heart | U+2764 | ❤ | Unicode 1.1 |
| 𑣲 | Warang Citi Number Ninety (Warang Citi digit for 90) | U+118F2 | 𑣲 | Unicode 7.0 |
| ⋆ | Star Operator (maths sign) | U+22C6 | ⋆ | Unicode 1.1 |
| ᥫ | Tai Le Letter E (Tai Le script) | U+196B | ᥫ | Unicode 4.0 |
| ᭡ | Balinese Musical Symbol Dong (Balinese music mark) | U+1B61 | ᭡ | Unicode 5.0 |
| ִ | Hebrew Point Hiriq (combines with the letter before it) | U+05B4 | ִ | Unicode 1.1 |
| ֶ | Hebrew Point Segol (combines) | U+05B6 | ֶ | Unicode 1.1 |
| ָ | Hebrew Point Qamats (combines) | U+05B8 | ָ | Unicode 1.1 |
| 𓂃 | Egyptian Hieroglyph D013 (eyebrow hieroglyph) | U+13083 | 𓂃 | Unicode 5.2 |
The Hebrew dots carry no shape of their own: they attach to whatever comes before them, which is why ִֶָ seems to float. Rare scripts such as Warang Citi and Tai Le are also the parts most likely to show as an empty box on older phones.
Emoji versus text symbol: ❤ and ♡

Love emojis look different on each platform
Every company draws its own emoji, so 🥰 or 💞 can look rounder, flatter or more detailed depending on who opens your message. The character underneath is identical; only the artwork changes. Text hearts like ♡ change much less, because they use the reader’s normal fonts.

Love emoji FAQ
What are some romantic emojis to express love?
The clearest romantic emojis are 😍 (heart eyes), 🥰 (feeling loved), 😘 (a blown kiss), 💋 (a kiss mark), 💕 and 💞 (hearts that move together) and 🌹 (a rose). For a quieter message, a single text heart ♡ after a name says it without colour.
Does 🤟 mean I love you?
Yes. 🤟 is I LOVE YOU HAND SIGN (U+1F91F), added in Unicode 10.0 in 2017. It shows the American Sign Language handshape that combines the letters I, L and Y. It is easy to confuse with 🤘 SIGN OF THE HORNS, which is the rock-music gesture — the thumb is the difference.
What does 🥰 mean?
🥰 is SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES AND THREE HEARTS (U+1F970), added in Unicode 11.0 in 2018. It means feeling loved, adored or wrapped up in affection — warmer and softer than 😍, which reads more like “wow, I want that”.
Love emoji in usernames and file names
Most @usernames on Instagram and TikTok accept only letters, numbers, dots and underscores, so hearts belong in your display name or bio instead. Windows and macOS allow emoji in file names, but some older programs and zip tools turn them into question marks — keep a plain-text copy of anything important.
